Rebecca joined IHA in June 2021 as Energy Policy Manager where she leads the Research and Policy Team’s work on markets and finance policy, including green financing mechanisms and regional hydropower development. She follows hydropower development in Central and Southern Asia and supported the Policy and Markets work packages for the International Forum on Pumped Storage Hydropower.

Prior to joining IHA, Rebecca worked with international stakeholders for creating and implementing policies for decarbonising heavy industry at the Climate Group, as well as working in business development and policy experience in decentralised energy, specifically demand side response, combined heat and power, energy efficiency and heat networks. She had a one-year secondment to the Heat Customer Protection Scheme (Heat Trust); project managing the first desk-based audits of heat network sites in the UK for the Scheme.

Rebecca holds an MSc in Global Governance and Ethics from University College London (UCL) and a First Class Honours Degree from Royal Holloway University of London in Politics and International Relations. She also holds qualifications in energy storage, solar photovoltaic, renewable energy project finance, and project management.

She is an avid runner, boulderer / rope climber, as well as violinist and classically trained singer.
