REN21 and Renewables 2004 20th Anniversary Celebration
Join REN21 in Berlin to celebrate 20 years of REN21 as well as Renewables 2004 - the International Conference for Renewable Energies in Bonn 2004 where REN21 was established.
Renewables 2004, convened by the German Government, was historic. The conference convened 100 Governments and pioneered in acknowledging the importance of engaging all stakeholder groups in the energy transition. A key outcome of renewables 2004 was the creation of REN21, the oldest and largest multi-stakeholder network dedicated to advancing renewables and a global leader in bringing renewables to the forefront of decision-makers. This “coalition of the willing” came together with one objective in mind: to support and accelerate the development of renewable energy.
The 20th anniversary of REN21 is an opportunity to commemorate two decades of trusted knowledge, dialogue, and communication with its community of over 4000 experts and more than 100 member organisations. As the world faces pressing societal and environmental challenges, REN21 aims to celebrate its historic and unique role in convening renewable energy leaders across regions and themes, fostering international collaboration and policy development with renewables at the centre.
This celebratory evening reception will bring together diverse stakeholders across governments, international organisations, industry associations, civil society and science and academia. It will also be the opportunity to connect with the original community that developed renewables 2004 and has strengthened REN21 for many years.
The reception will be held at BMWK, Invalidenstraße 48, 10115 Berlin. Registration starts at 6 pm. The 20th Anniversary Celebration of REN21 officially begins at 7 pm and will be followed by drinks and snacks. Parking close to the venue is limited. Therefore we recommend to use public transport.
