This webinar on Small Hydropower focused on the opportunities and challenges in Africa and lessons learned from around the world.
Small Hydropower (SHP) is a mature and versatile technology, effective for providing access to clean and sustainable electricity both in the developing and developed world, particularly in rural areas. If sustainably planned, SHP projects can also offer opportunities for the empowerment of local communities.
The webinar aimed to raise the profile of SHP as a renewable energy solution in African rural regions, to discuss the challenges and opportunities including the role of the private sector and to share lessons learned from other SHP projects around the world.
