In an open letter to Keir Starmer, the new UK Prime Minister, Malcolm Turnbull, former Australian Prime Minister and IHA President sets out the potential to improve UK energy security and ensure a reliable and affordable decarbonised electricity grid. Rapid deployment of the cap and floor mechanism for long duration electricity storage can lead to the development of much needed new pumped storage hydropower capacity in the UK.
