World Hydropower Congress
The World Hydropower Congress is the award-winning flagship event of IHA, bringing together more than 1,000 participants from industry, government, finance, civil society and academia. In addition to knowledge sharing, networking, business and partnership opportunities, the Congress provides the stage for high-level policy statements and recommendations that will influence the global growth of sustainable hydropower. The 2021 and 2023 Congresses produced several remarkable moments for hydropower history including the San José Declaration on Sustainable Hydropower, the launch of the Hydropower Sustainability Standard and the Bali Statement on Powering Sustainable Growth.

International Forum on Pumped Storage
The International Forum on Pumped Storage is a two-day global forum at UNESCO House in Paris on 9-10 September 2025, bringing world experts and leaders together to discuss the critical role of pumped storage in the future energy mix and present recommendations for enabling its uptake.

The first International Forum on Pumped Storage Hydropower was held in 2021 and brought together 13 governments – the USA, Austria, Brazil, Colombia, Estonia, Greece, India, Indonesia, Israel, Morocco, Norway, Sri Lanka and Switzerland - international financial institutions, and over 70 organisations, including EDF, GE RenewableEnergy, Voith and Hydro Tasmania.

Webinars
IHA runs regular, free to attend webinars covering key industry topics including policy and finance, energy security, climate resilience and water management and sustainability. With over 200 participants, we have high attendance from C-Suite level, our members, development banks, government officials, academia and non-profits.
