Renewable energy growth in Commonwealth countries and beyond: a glimpse of the global low-carbon transition (COP27 event)

The Association for Renewable Energy and Clean Technology (REA) will host this official COP27 side event to discuss renewable energy development and coordination among Commonwealth countries. It will explore how green movements can help to reduce carbon emissions, mitigate climate change and deliver energy security for both developing and developed nations.
During the event, the International Hydropower Association (IHA) will moderate a panel discussion exploring technology success cases, and how renewable technologies like hydropower and biomass can achieve maximum impact in developing countries.
The event will include discussions on topics including:
- How can we increase the communication and cooperation between all commonwealth countries to promote the growth of all forms of renewable energy and clean technologies to help mitigate climate change?
- What examples of best practice in coordination between developing and developed countries show how can we deliver energy equality and security?
- How can we encourage local communities and SMEs to seize the opportunities brought by net zero, and how can developed countries support communities in developing countries to this end?
