Hydropower is at the heart of power generation in many countries, including Africa. Addressing the sustainability issues of hydropower projects is increasingly important to ensure the long-term success of projects and even access to finance.

The Hydropower Sustainability Assessment Protocol and derivative tools provide a framework for assessing projects, at any stage of development, across a range of social, environmental, technical and economic criteria. This webinar will look in detail at:

• How to use the Protocol;
• Topics evaluated under the Protocol;
• Examples of where the Protocol has been applied; and
• Other assessment tools available.

The webinar, which will be conducted in French, has been organised by the Francophonie Institute for Sustainable Development (IFDD) in partnership with the International Hydropower Association.
