About the speakers
Bill Girling is director of hydropower development at IHA. In this capacity, he oversees IHA's work across a broad range of topics, including climate mitigation and adaptation, water consumption, the macroeconomic benefits of hydropower, finance and investment and clean energy systems.
Bill has 35 years of experience from the Canadian hydropower sector, having worked for most of his career as a hydropower planning engineer at Manitoba Hydro. His experience includes leading on economic studies of the refurbishment of ageing hydropower facilities, the coordination of asset management optimisation studies, and providing technical expertise for climate change impact and adaptation studies.
Alex Trembath is communications manager at IHA. He leads on our communications strategy and manages the delivery of a range of communications projects, including our recent website redevelopment and brand realignment, as well as our email and social media engagement.
Alex has a degree in journalism and English, and ten years’ experience in a variety of communications management roles across both the not-for-profit and commercial sectors.
