Kalla – Bukaka Hydropower announced as national supporting partner at the World Hydropower Congress
Kalla Bukaka Hydropower has been announced as a national supporting partner at the 2023 World Hydropower Congress taking place from 31 October to 2 November in Bali, Indonesia.
The Indonesian Government has set out to achieve 23% renewable energy use by 2025 and 31% by 2050. Kalla-Bukaka Hydropower supports this goal by having developed and continuing to develop hydropower plants across Indonesia. The company aims to be part of the solution and fulfil the energy needs of Indonesians while reducing emissions and delivering on the country’s goal to reach the net zero target goals.
Kalla Bukaka Hydropower is a business unit developed by Kalla Group and PT Bukaka Teknik Utama which specialises in New and Renewable Energy. The company has succeeded in building hydropower plants that supply electricity in several regions in Indonesia. This includes Poso Peaker (515MW) built by PT Poso Energy and Malea (90MW) built by PT Malea Energi.
Additionally, the company continues to develop projects and has several that are ongoing. This includes, Merangin (350MW), currently under construction by PT Kerinci Merangin Hidro. Poso-3 (400MW) under PT Poso Energy and Mamuju Tumbuan (450MW) under PT Tumbuan Mamuju Energy are currently under the Feasibility Study phase.
