Queensland Hydro plays a critical role in helping meet the Queensland Government’s renewable energy targets and net zero emissions by 2050 and supporting the shift in the Australian economy to a decarbonised energy system. Projects include the 2,000MW Borumba pumped hydro project, located approximately 50km south-west of Gympie, and the 5,000MW Pioneer-Burdekin pumped hydro project, located approximately 75km west of Mackay.
