SMEC
SMEC is an internationally recognised Dams and Hydropower consultant with heritage that spans over 75 years. The original Snowy Mountain Hydroelectric Scheme in Australia forms the backbone and history of our organisation. Since then, we have built an extensive portfolio of dam and hydropower projects, exporting our technical skill set across the world.
We bring expertise in dam engineering, hydropower planning and environmental management, and experience on some of the world’s largest hydropower projects including Snowy 2.0 (Australia), Kameng Hydro Power Station (India) and Ulu Jelai (Malaysia), to design optimal solutions that enhance energy generation and storage capabilities.
SMEC is a global advocate for environmentally responsible hydropower solutions. As an active member of the International Hydropower Association, the International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD) and the Australian National Committee on Large Dams (ANCOLD), we are committed to safeguarding communities through rigorous stakeholder engagement and ecological assessment.
