Wang Ping joined IHA’s regional team in August 2024 as the China Engagement Officer. He is responsible for establishing relationships between IHA, our members and the region. Ensuring IHA understands the key opportunities and challenges to support the development of sustainable hydropower in China.

Since 1994，Mr. WangPing has worked with Sinohydro, GE Hydro, China Huaneng Group, State PowerInvestment Corporation Limited (SPIC) and other companies in relevant positions in their hydropower project development, construction and management for 30years.

He has participated in the construction of major hydropower projects in China and Myanmar, such as 1200MWGuangzhou Pumped-storage Power Project (Phase I), 1800MW Zhejiang Tianhuangping Pumped-storage Power Project, Three Gorges Hydropower Project, Jinghong Hydropower Project, 4200MW Xiaowan Hydropower Project, 5850MW Nuozhadu Hydropower Project in China, 600MW Shweli (I) Hydropower Project, and 21600MW Upstream Ayeyawady Hydropower Projects in Myanmar, and served in various capacities aschief representative, director of international cooperation, director of public relations, director of resettlement, senior supervisor and senior manager.
